We are hiring!

The Dickson lab takes an interdisciplinary approach to the study of cellular communication and membrane excitability. We welcome talented and creative applicants from a variety of research backgrounds, including physiology, cell biology, molecular biology, biophysics, and neuroscience. Candidates should be highly motivated, able to think clearly, and have the ability to work collaboratively towards common goals. We are committed to creating a diverse and dynamic work environment; candidates from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

POSTDOCS

Postdoctoral candidates should have, or be soon expecting, a Ph.D. in Physiology, Cell Biology, Biophysics, neuroscience, or a related discipline. We are especially interested in candidates with experience in electrophysiology, molecular biology, and imaging. Candidates should send Eamonn a CV (including publications), contact information for three references, and a cover letter describing past research accomplishments and why they are interested in joining the lab.

GRADUATE STUDENTS

Prospective students must be admitted into a UC Davis degree program. We accept students from any UC Davis graduate program, including but not limited to the Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Physiology gradaute group (MCIP), Biochemistry, Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology gradaute group (BMCDB), and the Biophysics graduate group. More information on UC Davis's graduate options can be found here. Prospective students are encouraged to contact Eamonn early in the process by sending a cover letter describing their scientific background and why they are interested in the lab.

UNDERGRADUATES

Students from all academic options are encouraged to apply. Please send Eamonn a one-page letter stating why you are interested in joining the lab, and what you hope to gain from the experience.
